Remember how back in the first week I said I wanted to lose those last ten pounds and be able to eat healthy snacks in the evening? Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion has given me so much help in that department. While I have not had the opportunity as of yet to try one of his amazing recipes, I have taken a look at his lists of food suggestions so that I can plan my shopping lists.

Interestingly enough, I have recently begun intermittent fasting, which has been an amazing breakthrough for me! To be honest, before receiving this book, the idea of this kind of fasting was foreign to me, and I was convinced I would never be able to do it. I also had the idea that I could eat late-night snacks and get up the next morning and eat a regular breakfast, but author Joel Marion lays out his ideas very succinctly in this book.  Intermittent fasting is recommended, but if you are unable to wait that long for breakfast, his Pumpkin Pie Egg Muffins or his Bacon and Caramelized Onion Egg Muffins sound like a winning combination to try.

However, you can probably guess which part of the recipes truly captured my attention! The desserts! And why not? I don’t need much to satisfy my sweet tooth, but on occasion, I like having the occasional indulgent treat. I prefer them to be healthy though, so I am already eying the No-Bake Salted Caramel Bars! I have a feeling that when the grocery store run happens this week, I will be purchasing the ingredients to make one of these succulent treats!

One of the things I know works from experience is his recommendations for what to drink in the morning.

  • “One of the simplest 3-Minute Fat-Burning Morning Rituals, lemon water is a glass of water mixed with the juice of one half of a lemon. This drink provides all the benefits of regular drinking water, which supports weight loss, digestive health, physical performance, and cognitive function.”

I drink water every morning anyway, so the addition of lemon water is something I have definitely been trying to implement into my routine. I know already that what he says works. It’s something I haven’t been passionate about in the past, but that is one of the easiest things I can do to help me burn fat!

Something I also appreciate about this book is that it includes a sort of quick-start program in addition to two other phases to make this an actual lifestyle. Now, the first phase is not one of those starvation kinds of programs or one where you can’t eat carbs or you only eat protein. The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good. I personally think this is the only way to go.

Be sure to come back next week for more from my journey, but until then, enjoy another video from the author, Joel Marion, as he shares some scientific knowledge.
