Being diagnosed with cancer can be very scary not only to you but also to your family. According to CDC, cancer is the second leading cause of death in the USA after heart diseases. The WHO estimated that about 5 million people died of cancer in the year 2020. There has been a lot of research on cancer treatment, but still, the cases are rising due to environmental pollution and the changing lifestyle. Since the 1970s, about two hundred billion dollars have been used for cancer research and treatment. Cancer is caused by external factors that interact with an individual’s genetic makeup, disrupting normal cell formation, which leads to malignancy. When you are diagnosed with cancer, it is best to know that it is not a death sentence. Several specialists, including oncologist Newport beach, have world-class skills and knowledge in treatments and care for cancer patients. Even though the cancer fatality rate is high, numerous cancer survivors have received treatment from various oncologists and have made it through.

Early diagnosis is an essential step in cancer treatment. It gives the oncologist enough time to identify and treat a developing cancer cell or tissue. With early diagnosis, there is high hope for a successful treatment. When diagnosed early enough, the treatments are affordable. Thus, it is best to find a well-equipped cancer center as soon as possible if you experience symptoms such as abnormal treatment, unexplained weight loss, among others.

Sometimes there are risk factors that one can interact with without knowing the dangers involved. These may be at work or home. Some of the well-known causes of cancer include;

  • Exposure to UV rays from the sun
  • Excessive use of tobacco
  • Exposure to asbestos fibers leads to mesothelioma.
  • Unhealthy body weight
  • Inadequacy of balanced diet and exercise.
  • Predetermined conditions such as hepatitis B, HPV infections, and EBV may lead to cancer progression.

With appropriate treatment programs and proper care from some of the best oncologists, you can be cancer-free or have a long lifespan.
