Blogging Challenge Day #28: “How do you find opportunities to continue to grow in the midst of struggles?”

This is one that frankly spoke to me because every struggle should be an opportunity to grow. In this world, we are faced with struggles, and if anyone claims to have no struggles, I would question whether they are living. Even for Christians, we know that God said we would have struggles in this world, but we are to take heart because He has overcome the world.

Just like any year, 2020 has been a year of facing challenges, choosing to overcome struggles, and making the decision not to give up. So much has been lost, and if you focus on the negative, then all you will see is the negative.

Once you change your perspective, it’s impressive to see how the blessings are poured out. Knowing that no storm will continue forever, you can rest assured that you will come out the other end, and hopefully, you’ll be better for it.

What do you do when you’re in the midst of the difficulty? Well, things will probably get messy. I recognize the fact that I am not going to face the situation perfectly. I am going to stumble and fall along the way. There’s a chance that I will experience a breakdown, and I may even backslide a bit.

In the end, however, it is what I choose to learn from the experience. It is the people in my life with whom I choose to surround myself. It is making the choice to walk through this experience and come out a stronger person in the end. I may have to walk through the valley of the shadow of death, but I will learn how to hold my head high, let the mistakes go, and move on.

I may not always make the right decisions, but if I am moving forward, that is all that matters.

Let go and let God be in control. Say yes to opportunity. Don’t give up or give in to despair.
