I don’t think I would have been able to answer this question before this year. Oh, I would have given the typical answers. “I want to be a kind, thoughtful person who lives for God.” Sure, that’s nice and all, but it doesn’t honestly explain the kind of person I want to be.
I desire to be of service to others. While I recognize that I am worthy and make valid contributions in this world, I want to remain humble while living in a state of daily gratitude and controlled by the Holy Spirit. I want my life to be filled with unconditional love for all people, and I want to make a difference in others’ lives by living an authentic life. Not perfect, but a life where God is at my core, and I always remain at the center of His will. I want not to be afraid to go after my dreams, no matter how big they are.
I want to be the kind of person who makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease. I want to encourage others in whatever way I can. I want to inspire others through my life and my writings. As a mother, sister, daughter, and friend, I want to be the kind of person with whom others enjoy spending time.
Oh, and I want to enjoy my life and help others enjoy it right along with me! While organizational skills are paramount, spontaneity and humor are imperative as well!
When I come to the end of my life, I want to be able to say I truly lived, not just survived!

I want to be respected and valued for my worth, be a good friend/daughter/mother/wife, be successful in my endeavors, and to be all that I am meant to be while honoring my Faith.

Oh Ruth, I stumbled upon this blog perchance (Interview blogpost with Victor Zinck) and I am so very pleased to have read your thoughts on the kind of person you want to be, for it mirrors mine, and knowing that there are still people out there who value good character and The Lord, strenghtens my resolve.
Bless you, Ruth!-
