Blogging Challenge Day #21: “Do you usually travel for the holidays?”

I am pleased to say that I no longer need to travel for the holidays and haven’t for many years. It is one of the perks of living with my parents.

However, back in the day, I traveled almost every year for the holidays! Whether I was in school in Florida, teaching in Florida or Texas, it made no difference. Except for the year I graduated from college (I graduated in December, an entire semester early), I was home for Christmas.

The worst part was the WEATHER! I couldn’t stand layovers in Chicago as they almost always had inclement weather. I can remember racing through Chicago O’Hare more than once to catch a flight. I preferred Dallas/Fort Worth.

Not having to travel during the holidays is the BEST!

When I was a child, we took at trip to my grandparents’ home in Tennessee. We’d spend a week there in the mountains. There was usually snow, so it was always beautiful.
