Blogging Challenge Day #14: “Do you prefer a real or artificial tree and why?”

A prompt like this can be a complicated question because, as much as I enjoy real Christmas trees, they are also very messy and can even be fire hazards. That being said, I have only had a real tree, maybe two or three times in my life. And I must admit that I wouldn’t trade the ease of an artificial tree with the headaches that come with real trees.

When we had a real tree, we never had trouble with it drying out or potentially causing a fire. We had the beautiful smell of a real tree. We actually used a tree that was in our yard. We had some kind of evergreen tree that had grown up quite a bit and was the perfect size for our living room. And one other time, we had both a real and a fake tree.

My all-time favorite tree was the one I got when I was married. I had dreamed of having a white tree. Not a flocked one, but a white one. So after Christmas, we bought one for about twenty-five dollars, if I remember correctly. I enjoyed putting that tree up each year and decorating it with red poinsettia lights as well as tie-on bows. It is a memory I shall never forget, and when it was finally time to move back to Washington state with my parents, I parted with that tree.

I would love to own a Balsam Hill tree because I think they look the most realistic of any tree I have ever seen. Regardless, I will probably never buy a real tree. I believe I will stick with my artificial one! It’s so much easier!!

I think , growing up, we had a real tree twice. As an adult, I have a prelit tree. I’m too afraid I would forget to water a real one.

I enjoy having a faux tree–easy to setup, no mess, no watering, nothing allergic, and they’re convenient. I dream of owning a Balsam Hill tree.

Many many years ago a family friend decided on getting a real tree. I always have artificial for the reason a huge spider jumped out of there tree and l truely don’t like spiders. So artificial it is
