Attending college is one of the most important checkpoints in any person’s life. This is the place where you make long-lasting friendships, form new connections, join various clubs, and have the best time of your life. It’s is also the first time when you get the taste of freedom to do whatever you please. Eating breakfast for dinner is not something unusual in college, as neither is binge-watching movies with your roomies.

Speaking of which…. If you’re tired of watching your movie collection, you’ve come to the right place! Whether you’re a cinephile or not, you should definitely check out our extensive list on the best college movies ever made.

  1. Good Will Hunting

One of the best college films is Good Will Hunting (1997). The film describes the life of a self-taught genius, Will, who happens to work as a janitor at MIT. While cleaning, Will solves a challenging math problem posted on the school’s blackboard byProfessor Lambeau.

After Will gets arrested for fighting a gang and manages to defend himself, Professor Lambeau proposes the genius to study mathematics under his supervision and take therapy classes. If he agrees, he won’t have to go to jail. Will accepts the offer and starts seeing the therapist. At first, he’s skeptical that the sessions will help in any way – but later, he’s surprised to find out that they might actually benefit him.

  1. American Pie

One of the most typical American college movies, American Pie (1999) is a hilarious comedy about four high-school students making a pact about losing their virginity until their school year ends. The funniest moments surprise the inexperienced teenagers in the most amusing circumstances, while, of course, displaying abundant sexual, vulgar themes. Here’s the truth: this one is a must-watch for anyone excited to lose their virginity!

Along with other witty students, Ben learns how to play blackjack and trick the system. He learns how to count cards and thus, win high amounts. This is one of the few colleges movies about poker. Watch it to see how you can design your own game rules and….win.

  1. Dead Poets Society

John Keating is a distinctive English teacher – for him, school is not only about studying the curriculum – it is about understanding life. Keating is an unconventional character, a person that would ask his students to climb on top of their desks only to see the world from a different angle. His fresh life perspective, outstanding communication skills, and love for his students make him a counterexample of what education nowadays offers. This is probably one of the greatest movies about college life ever made.
