Music is part of our everyday lives. The style and sounds of music vary according to cultural and personal preferences. In the United States, many public school systems have cut back on their arts programs that include budget cuts for music teachers. Sadly, many young schoolkids do not have the musical opportunities that other children do. Most get into a music career because of a deep love for music. Theater groups often hire music educators, and working for a cruise line is a fun job that can earn a nice salary. Most that get into music want to teach on some level. School band and choir directors are two popular career choices. Vocal coaches can earn a lot of money depending on the clients being taught. Concert producers and agents, military bands, music consultants, radio sound engineers, music critics or curators, DJs and performers all are within the job possibilities for those holding a masters of music education degree.
