Welcome to this fantastic giveaway hop hosted by Lisa Loves Literature and I Am A Reader, Not a Writer. This book giveaway hop is a little different because it celebrates sequels. This means that you don’t get to pick the first book in a series. Nope–don’t even try it! I have some Amish sequels I will be reading this month and next month, but I have to admit that the only sequel on my mind is the next book that follows Scarlet. I love Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, and I can hardly wait till the next book comes out! I always love talking about her since she lives so near where I grew up–essentially down the street.
When it comes to sequels, I find that very often, they are better, but once in a while, they don’t live up to the hype. No matter–one of my wonderful international readers will get to win a sequel the is $10 or less, and all you need to do is enter the rafflecopter below by 9 P.M. Pacific time on September 9. You will also need to make sure that Book Depository, Fish Pond, and/or Amazon ship to you. I also buy books on half.com if you live in the U.S. That opens up more options when you can buy a used book. After you enter my giveaway, be sure to hop on!

I love fantasy books, my first love to fantasy is Harry Potter books. Next I want to read and watch Game of Thrones. Late I know, but I don’t have a chance yet for an engaging read/watch.
Thanks for the chance.

I feel like sequels make me a part of their family. There’s nothing better than recurring characters that continue over long series. For me, the best sequels have to be by Jill Shalvis (Lucky Harbor & Animal Magnetism series), Gena Showalter (Lords of the Underworld) and Pamela Palmer (Feral Warriors)!
Thanks for taking part in this hop!

My favorite book of all time is a sequel! The third book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, The Queen of the Damned. I actually read it first before reading the others years and years ago and since have read it three more times.
Thanks for the giveaway!

As far as sequels go, many do not live up to Vol.1 of the series.
I like when sequels do a nice continuation of a series, instead of falling flat on their faces.

I like sequels that are a good continuation of the story not ones that just drag on never giving new information.

thanks for making this international -
I love if you read a great book and then the sequel comes out and it isgreat and it is fun to read a continuation of the original book and they can even carry it further with grandchildren etc. I like a good sequel.

Personally, I love sequels. Anything to put me back in that world with my beloved characters!
-
I love seeing character progression, as they mature, change, grow-up, learn, etc. A series seems to cover that better with more characters than a single book.

I do enjoy a story arc or a character’s development that is big enough to need a series and not just one book. It is a 50/50 shot if the series lives up to a first book or better yet, if it just keeps getting better and better. My favorite series is Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, but I’m a huge Patricia Briggs fan with several of her series, duos, etc.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

I love sequels because they mean you get to spend more time with characters you love.
