MY THOUGHTS:

I have been a Star Wars fan for almost as long as I can remember. I was very young when the first one came out, so I didn’t see that one in the theaters. However, I have seen every Star Wars film, and the entire saga is something very special and lasting to behold.

General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

While I adore the original movies, and I wasn’t overly fond of the three prequels, I have enjoyed the way Disney has truly carried on the legacy of these films. I remember going to see the last movie in which Carrie Fisher was featured, and it just so happened we were watching it right after we had learned of her death. When I realized that she had actually filmed all of her portions before her death, I was even more mesmerized with this film!

Was this movie the most perfect Star Wars film ever? Well, that’s debatable, and that’s not what I’m here to discuss. Having Princess Leia and Mark Hamill in this final film of the saga…it was absolute perfection! Add in Chewbacca, Landau, Ewoks, and so much more, and I found myself quite dazzled by this film while experiencing plenty of emotion along the way.

In our current crisis, I would say that watching this film would be the ideal thing to do as a family while isolated at home. The story will remind you of the triumph of the human spirit, holding fast to your convictions, and it will give you a few moments of laughter and tears along the way.
