Unwilling Promise by Emily Yager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
I was completely thrilled and encouraged by this short but powerful story. It is Christian and definitely clean even though it deals with some disturbing elements. Being a divorcee myself who got out of the marriage before physical abuse could occur, I appreciated this particular issue and how it was handled within the book. The story was fairly straightforward but had some unexpected moments of emotion that made the story even more realistic.
The only difficulty I had was the Ukrainian names and customs included within the novella. Be sure to check out the helps included at the end of the story for a richer experience.
While the gospel may not have been expressly told within the pages of this tale, God was the center of the tale and everything was handled according to Biblical principles. I would love to read more from this author and these characters she created.
