This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by Sweetworks. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.
Being creative with candies, cake and any kind of sweets is always fun things–and when one can involve kids it’s even better! You will definitely want to check out Cake My Day! It will be available at the end of March but you will want to preorder now! This book is something that you will have to see to believe. The pictures are absolutely fabulous and even someone like me with kids and who has a crazy busy life can accomplish these lovely creations. If you order Cake My Day! you will also be entered to win $250 prize of the book and Sweetworks Candy. I have a creative daughter with whom I will be collaborating eventually as we get closer to her late spring party. And this book and Sweetworks candies gave me some great ideas.
I was sent some fantastic candies from Sweetworks and my inspiration was very sound as I looked at their book, and there is also a fantastic blog to check out (Hello Cupcake).
So I decided that with the children that would be attending my daughter’s party, I wanted them to be able to create their own candy party favors. And what could be better than creating their initials and having a “chocolate candy bowl.” I plan to let the children do their own thing with this, but I figured I would try it out with the wealth of candy I was sent.
I love the bright colors of candy that I had to choose from–perfect for spring. Gumballs, chocolate oranges, chocolate sticks, and more. the possibilities are endless. My daughter’s initials are “MH,” and this was fairly easy for me to do.
So then I decided to create a chocolate bowl. My idea is to make these bowls, fill them with bright colored candies, and then hide little party favors down in the bottom. All of that together makes a perfect party favor. Since my daughter will only have girls at the party, then this would be the ideal thing!
Now neither of these are included in the book, but my mind just gets going, and I think of all different possibilities. And that is why I chose something that children could do easily and still have a great time. You could add a cookie to it, or you could even just add frosting. You can imagine how the kids might just go bonkers for these, and I can hardly wait to try it out at my daughter’s party!
So are you ready to get inspired for spring? I hope so. Imagine the creations you can make!
Here’s the best part. One of my U.S. readers will receive a digital copy of Cake My Day! and $35 of Sweetworks Candy! That is a $50 value!
