This is commonplace for baseball now. If we didn’t have artificial light, baseball season would be less inviting. (What am I talking about? I’m not a baseball fan! I know, but there are many who are!) It was on this date in 1910 that the Logan Squares and Rogers Park played the baseball’s first successful night game under artificial lights at Comiskey Park. These were amateur teams, and perhaps neither knew the significance of this night. They used twenty 137,000 candlepower arc lights.
