If you have a little one going to school, you may be very thankful that today’s feature happened. On this date in 1873, the school board of St. Louis, Missouri, authorized the first public kindergarten. It was opened by educational pioneer, Susan Blow. I hope that they never do away with free public kindergarten because in my opinion, it is vital to growing children!
