Similar to plane that was hijacked

I don’t know if I remember this one for sure, but I think I do.  On this date in 1985, TWA flight 847 was hijacked by Hezbollah and Islāmic Jihad.  The flight took off in Cairo originally.  Then it was en route from Athens to Rome.  It was supposed to finish its flight in London.  The terrorists wanted the release of Shi’ite Muslims that were being held in Israel.

Just thirty minutes into the flight, two terrorists got out their guns and said they were hijacking the plane.  There were about 150 passenger, 100 of whom were Americans.  The hijackers insisted that the plane land in Beirut.  Beirut tried to keep them from landing.  The captain and the terrorists continued to insist on the landing.   The terrorists tried to find passengers with Jewish passports, but there were none.  They did finally kill a navy diver and dumped his body on the runway.  Most of the passengers were released during the 17-day ordeal.  They took five hostages who were eventually released.  It would appear that there are three fugitives involved who are still on the run from the law to this date.
