It was not easy to research the exact date of today’s feature, and hopefully I am accurate. If you wish to read about our featured countess, there is a load of information out there, however. On this date in 1425, disguised as a man, Countess (or Duchess) Jacoba (or Jacqueline) of Bavaria escaped prison. You might find it interesting to discover that she was married four times, and it seems as though she was merely a pawn to be passed around in the greater scheme of things.
