My Thoughts:
When I was growing up, I knew that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was outstanding, but I wasn’t that interested in their music. We visited the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, and we didn’t get to hear them (but we heard and organ concert–my mom loved that). The only thing I liked by this choir was their definitive version of Battle Hymn of the Republic.
This is the first time I have heard this group since I was a teenager, and I loved it from beginning to end! Each song is inspiring, beautifully-sung, and brought me close to the very doors of heaven. I loved their selection from Messiah since I had not listened to that since I was in college. I actually remembered learning it, and it brought back amazing memories. Amazingly, my daughter loved this CD, too! She is almost 11, and she loves pop music, but she recognizes the beauty and glory of more traditional music when it is well-performed. No matter what one’s religious beliefs concerning Christ, I believe that it can be an inspiration to him/her. I highly recommend this CD. It actually makes me consider going out and buying more of their albums. Even though Easter is over, the truth of Christ’s resurrection is unchanging.
I was sent a copy of this CD in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
