I have to admit that I don’t know a lot about recent Jewish history except for Israel’s homeland creation and the constant bad blood between the Jews and Arabs. I was not aware of the great thing that one of the lesser-known presidents of our country did. On this date in 1922, President Harding signed the Joint-Fish Resolution which gave the Jews permission to establish their own homeland in Palestine. It was not until 1947, that this actually occurred, but it is noteworthy that so many years before our country supported the Jewish people so long ago. It’s a shame that we have not been nearly as supportive in recent years, but again, that is only my opinion. I suppose my feelings concerning the Jews come my Christian faith more than they do any political issues.
