I’m glad I waited to post because something happened this
morning that reminds me how life is brief.  I woke up
to my mother’s tears.  I ran out and heard the
news–her mom died.  I was shocked.  Now, I was
never super-close with my grandmother.  Her husband,
my grandfather, died years ago, and I cried profusely over
his death.  In later years, my grandmother softened,
and I feel like I got a little closer to her.  She
recently celebrated her 94th birthday, and I am proud of
the 4-generation picture we had taken.
I am so glad that my mom, my daughter, and I got to be a
part of this last happy celebration.  There are others
in my family who may have to deal with guilt because they
did not take the time to attend this event.  This is
my daughter’s first experience with death, and I know that
will be hard.  I remember my first experience with
death–the death of my uncle.
The main things I take away from this is:
1.  Don’t take precious memories and time for
granted.  No one is guaranteed tomorrow.
2.  Make sure that you have shared the gospel with
your loved ones–we are not 100 percent sure my Grandma was
saved, but we can honestly say that we shared the Lord with
her.
3.  Spend time with those in your family who are older
in age.  There is a good chance that you will not
outlive them!
I would love to hear any stories of inspiration you have
for me!
Now it’s time for our featured linker of the
week
. I really love that people come over
here and link up each week with us, and as a little thank
you I like to feature one of the lovely linkers whose post
really spoke to me. Would you like to be featured? All you
need to do is to link up below – I pick out a different
post to feature every week. This week I’d like to feature
this one from Winter’s Past. It’s all
about the small ways we can (as ordinary human beings)
change the lives of others each and every day. It’s
uplifting, inspiring and it makes you realise even more
that those small things really do matter.
I'm an inspiration

Hey Ruth – so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. At least though as you said you got to spend time with her in a meaningful way before she passed. That’s so important.

On another (blogging) note I will have a look at the button codes for the hop – the HTML grab box doesn’t seem to show up – you have two button pictures instead! I’ll try a different code for next week and see if that works better for you. Feel free to alter any pictures or any aspects of the hop that don’t look how you want.

    Thanks for co-hosting 🙂

I have no idea what the problem is–I put it into a couple different html editors, and it works, but my site does not like it for some reason. I’ve never had this trouble before. I’ll just redirect them to your site in the future.
