educents logoAlthough I do not homeschool my ten-year-old daughter, I am always on the lookout for books and other resources to supplement what she is doing at school.  OverlapMaps.com eBook is just such a resource.  It is on sale right now for $4.99 at Educents (see the hyperlink in the former sentence.)  The regular price is $11.49, and this is the description provided:

Using this eBook, students make OverlapMaps and learn about continents, oceans, nation-states, and more.
Ages 8+

I was amazed as I read through this fantastic resource.  The purpose of the book is to introduce a unique website to students that will allow them to virtually place any continent, country, or other area of the world on top of another area of the world.  For example, if your child wishes to find out how big the U.S. in relation to other countries, you can now find out.  The activity sheets are easy to read, and this can be done with very little parental guidance.  I will be honest–I love those kinds of things!  Although my daughter has not had the opportunity to try this out yet, I am saving it for the summer when she says those characteristic words “I’m bored.”
