R.L. StineFor the record, I have never read anything by today’s feature, but, of course, I know the name and his best-selling series.  On this date in 1943 (the same year as my mom!), R.L. (Robert Lawrence) Stine was born.  He is a Columbus, Ohio native, and he is Jewish by birth.  His career began with humor stories for kids under the pen name Jovial Bob Stine.   He wrote his first horror book in 1986 (Blind Date).  He was also co-creator and writer of the Nickelodeon series Eureka’s Castle.  It was 1992 when his series Goosebumps was first launched.  This was also a television series from 1995-1998.   He has continued his career with adult-oriented books (Superstitious amongst others).  He is married and has one son.
