Many thanks to David C. Cook for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

If you had told me years ago that I’d be reading and reviewing graphic novels, I probably would have laughed.

But thanks to my daughter—who has always loved this genre—I’ve come to appreciate just how fun, engaging, and meaningful graphic novels can be. Even now that she’s an adult, whenever I come across a new one, I instantly think of her.

And honestly? The Blobs graphic novel series is exactly the kind of series I wish I had discovered sooner.

Why Kids (and Parents) Will Love The Blobs

From the moment you open these books, one thing stands out immediately:

The illustrations are incredible.

They’re colorful, expressive, and packed with energy—perfect for keeping young readers engaged from start to finish.

But what really makes this series shine is the balance between:

  • Humor
  • Action
  • Heart

It’s fast-paced and fun, yet still delivers meaningful messages that parents will appreciate.

A Quick Look at Volume 2: Attack of the Glitchies

The newest release, The Blobs: Volume 2: Attack of the Glitchies, takes everything kids loved in the first book and turns it up a notch.

Here’s the heart of the story:

  • A goofy crew of misfit heroes
  • A stolen stash of powerful space gems (the “Doomsicles”)
  • A galaxy full of villains trying to get them back

And right in the middle of it all?

An unexpected hero learning what it truly means to do the right thing.

The adventure is wild, funny, and full of surprises—but underneath it all are themes of:

  • Friendship
  • Courage
  • Sacrifice

Which makes it more than just entertainment—it’s a story kids can actually learn from.

Perfect for Fans of Popular Kids’ Series

If your kids enjoy books like:

  • Dog Man
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid
  • Captain Underpants

Then this series will feel right at home.

It has that same:

  • Silly humor
  • Relatable characters
  • High-energy storytelling

But with its own unique sci-fi twist.

My Personal Take

What I love most about The Blobs is how family-friendly it is.

There’s no worrying about inappropriate content—just:

  • Clean humor
  • Fun action
  • Positive messages woven throughout

It’s the kind of book you can confidently hand to younger readers, knowing they’ll be entertained and encouraged.

And for me, it carries something extra special…

Every time I read it, I’m reminded of my daughter and how her love for graphic novels opened my eyes to this whole world.

Final Thoughts: A Must-Have for Young Readers

If you’re looking for a graphic novel that:

  • Keeps kids engaged
  • Makes them laugh
  • Teaches meaningful lessons

This is it.

Whether your child is already a graphic novel fan or just getting started, The Blobs is a fantastic choice.
