Book: Yours, Mine, & Forever
Author: Joanne Markey
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 7, 2019
Whoever said the course of true love never runs smooth knew their business.
Especially motherly love.
Still, with adoption success just waiting for ink and paper to appear, Norah can focus on more exciting things, like Christmas, and figuring out how this marriage thing is going to work out! However, never underestimate the craftiness of an antagonist old woman determined to get her own way—or rather, stop Norah from getting hers. If it means resorting to underhanded means to ensure she comes out on top, then so be it. All it takes is a word in the right ear, a nudge here, a wink there, and the natural course of gossip and slander will do the rest.
When the dust clears, Norah’s heart is in tatters and her fledgling relationship is in ruins… Or is it? Will her hero’s patience wear thin, and is Norah’s faith strong enough to see her through whatever comes her way?

About the Author
Yours, Mine, & Forever by Joanne Markey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
First of all, this is a clean, Christian novel with plenty of romance. Nothing offensive is included within this book, and the faith of the characters is acknowledged and woven into the story quite well. However, it is also not a “preachy” book, which is perfect for anyone who may just want to read a light-hearted, modern-day clean romance with some suspenseful elements.
I hadn’t realized this was the second in a series, and I want to state that in my opinion, this cannot/should not be read as a standalone book. While the book started out with a bang, I was lost until almost one-third of the way through the book. This is definitely not the author’s fault, but I highly recommend that readers pick up and read the first book in this series as opposed to beginning here. I wish the author had given some kind of help to those of us jumpng in and reading the second book first, but alas, there is nothing.
This book’s level of quality was a bit better than typical for this genre. It deals with the issue of adoption, and of course, there are those that are going to attempt to undermine everything for the couple wishing to adopt these children and give them a permanent home. Through a series of incidents that involve gossip and attempts to malign character, the emotion continues to propel the story along. I was happy with this book overall, and I would recommed it to those looking for an easy-to-read book in this genre (though I would urge readers to read the first book in the series before tackling this one).
Originally from Australia, Joanne now lives in Ohio with her husband and seven children where she spends her days writing, wrangling children, and trying to determine which phrases originated in which country because she uses them all interchangeably, thereby continually confusing herself as much as those around her.
