Did you have the opportunity to see Overcomer when it premiered in select theaters across the country? No, I was unable to go to the theater–you’re blessed if you go to! I had heard nothing but good things about this movie, and I even gave my tickets to some friends of mine and they told me I HAD to see it!

Well, just in time for Christmas, Overcomer is now out on digital, but it released on Blu-Ray and DVD on December 17th! I pre-0rdered mine, and I recommend you do the same lest it sells out!

If you’re wondering about this amazing movie, take a look at some of the facts.

  • Overcomer is the #1 Inspirational Family Film of 2019–how cool is this??
  • 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes–Wahoo!
  • Available just in time for gifting! (Just like I said!)
  • DVD is packed with tons of features and extras (you want to be one of the cool kids, right?)
  • You can find resources for your church and family on the Overcomer website.

Sometimes people wonder why I’m so passionate about faith-based films such as Overcomer. Well, I’m quite pleased to tell you the reason. The main reason is this. Hollywood is a BUSINESS. This means that when a movie is released and does well at the box office, that business makes money. Well, you know all the Disney movies, the Super Hero movies, and more are going to do exceptionally well at the box office. We don’t even have to go. Those are the films that have massive budgets and all the star power behind them. But when it comes to lower-budget, faith-based films such as Overcomer, they can be perceived as a risk. In business, if that risk pays off and makes money, then there’s a good chance that business will be inclined to make another calculated risk. If, however, the movie loses money, the business will not be as inclined to take those risks. So, this means that if we as Christians want to see more faith-based, family films such as Overcomer, we need to let Hollywood know through our pocketbooks that these are the kinds of risks that will pay off in major dividends. I hope you join me in ordering your copy today!
