I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
First of all, this is a clean, Christian romance. There is nothing inappropriate, and I would feel comfortable in recommending this book whole-heartedly to all my readers. And when I say Christian, it is not a book that “preaches” at you or anything like that. Instead, God is at the core of everything that happens with the story, and whether the character believes in Him or not, he guides every single step. Many might like to conclude that coincidences rule every aspect of this story, but as we believers know, there is no such thing as a coincidence.
This is one of the strongest beginnings to any series I’ve ever read. More often than not, when a new series begins, regardless of the author, it takes a while to set the stage and get to know the characters. Not so with this story. I appreciated the background information provided at the beginning, and while some of the story may have been predictable, not all of it was. In fact, that is one of the hallmarks of Denise’s writings. She knows how to add the right type of spice to make the read intriguing and involving.
I cannot wait to read other books in this series. I actually find myself caring about every character mentioned within this book, and as far as I’m concerned, the possibilities are endless! I think Hallmark or Netflix should snap this one up quickly as this would be the perfect basis for a series that would appeal to those of us who adore small-town settings, traditional values, and sweet romances with a bit of a twist!
