We all live in a movie-obsessed world where people are swooning over their favorite celebrity every minute. There are many movie festivals held in different places in the world every year, where many superstars make surprise appearances. There’s no escape from the fact, as the world continues to become a lot smaller with technology, the rate of criminal activities continues to rise. Every year the news headlines are flooded with terrorist attacks in different parts of the world. Movie festivals welcome thousands of visitors every year with an increased risk of terrorist attacks, theft, murder, robbery, child abduction, etc. In this article we will tell you how to stay safe in a movie festival:

  1.     Visit early in the morning

If the movie festival starts early in the morning, the best idea is to visit at that time. Refrain from visiting during the afternoon or evening because the number of visitors is already at its highest by then. Take your kids early in the morning to enjoy the movie festival to the fullest. Most movie festivals often have special websites dedicated to them that are maintained by the managers of the event. If you want, you can also check the visitor count from the official website.

  1.     Keep in touch with your family

The best way to stay safe is to keep in touch with your family and friends. Movie festivals are crowded with a lot of people, so there is always a risk of getting lost. The best way is to share your live location with family so they can keep an eye on you and know about your whereabouts. There are many apps that help people in getting to know about the location of their loved ones in real-time. If you have an iPhone, google “iphone tracker top 10 iphone family trackers” to know the best apps for this phone for location tracking.

  1.     Stay away from crowded stalls

Though there are hundreds of stalls in a movie festival, you will come across a few that will be flocked with countless numbers of people. Keep away from those stalls if you are there with your family. Pickpockets often take the opportunity to steal money and valuables from naïve people in such places. Furthermore, such crowds often stand a chance of getting attacked by terrorists, so you better stay away from such places.

  1.     Report any suspicious activity to security

Such large festivals have an entire team of people who come together to make it happen. Security personnel make up a large segment of that team and are actively involved in helping people. If you ever encounter any suspicious criminal activity, report it to the security team to avoid any unwanted event from happening. Secondly, if you experience some harassment or anything, you must inform the security officer and seek help immediately.

  1.     Stay on the edges of the crowd

If you don’t have any experience visiting such a large crowd before, stay on the outskirts to avoid getting lost in the middle of the gathering. Edges of such large crowds are often safe, and one can avoid the hustle-bustle easily. Furthermore, as you march towards the outskirts of the crowd you will easily be able to reach out to different stalls. Refrain from engaging in the crowd as soon as you enter the festival for it could be dangerous.

Lastly! Don’t forget to have a great experience of going to the movie festival, but it is always worthwhile to visit the place with someone who has experience navigating movement in such a large public gathering.
