I was sent a set of free sample products in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.

House of Matriarch is a company that specializes in high perfumery. They are celebrating ten years as the premier American Indie Fragrance House. They craft their fragrances from natural essences.  Creatrix and “nose” Christi Meshell blend each fragrance to the highest standards of beauty and naturalness from the largest fragrance organ in the western world. Rare and even sacred, these fragrances speak to the past but carry us into the future, to the pinnacle of the highest art of perfume-making.

I was sent four seasonal samples for my review, and I must admit these perfumes are unlike anything else I’ve used previously. I do not like to wear strong, cheap-smelling fragrances, but it is clear that these are high-end perfumes.

Here is a breakdown of what I was sent:

ORCA :

“ORCA began over a century ago. Natural grey ambergris – washed onto a New Zealand shore in the late 1800’s – discovered by a shrewd beachcomber and passed from generation to generation. Here you will find the timeless magic of the Ocean – sparkling, exotic and effervescent. Exalting notes construct a pedestal upon which this rare vintage ambergris reigns supreme. ”

L’ARRIVÉE: (my personal favorite)

“A “masculine floral” jasmine with the trueness of natural jasmine apparent at first spray.  Soft mimosa harmonizes with sunny marigold, bergamot and twinkling magnolia.  In the heart, multiple varieties of natural jasmine including two boutique distillations dance with wisps of exotic tiare, broom, Omani frankincense, neroli and rosewood – notes which add to the interest of the jasmine bouquet but never detract from the soliflore nature of the composition.”

EPIPHANY:

“The holy grail of lavender perfumes.  Triple gold medal award-winning Hidcote Pink Lavender, organically grown and artisan distilled on the Olympic Peninsula is the crown jewel of this modern chypre formulation.”

ALBATROSS:

“The natural marine accord celebrates that spirit, the fresh coolness of where the ocean meets the sky. Salty Salish Sea breezes meet the soft warm notes of cork, driftwood and cottonwood evoking images of seafaring vessels, creosote-soaked timber, and barnacle covered hulls.”

All of these lovely fragrances were subtle and never over-powering. According to the storage tips, it says that the fragrances actually improve as they age, and I think that is phenomenal. I loved the little box in which the company sent me this sample, and they even sent me a personal greeting.

If you are looking for a high-end perfume that is high quality, natural and long-lasting, look no further than House of Matriarch.

I think I would like Epiphany best, but your favorite, L’Arrivee sounds lovely.
