Philanthropy is one of those things that is discussed rather often on the news and in popular culture, but actually making it a part of one’s life is a discipline that requires thought and purpose on one’s part. The benefits are immense, but ensuring that one’s donations are actually being used correctly and providing adequate assistance does require some intensive research.

When choosing to donate money to worthy causes, it is beneficial to investigate reputable sites. Matt Redhawk can be one place to visit in order to ask questions and understand the process of philanthropy. Also, examining well-known and respected names, such as Parker, which are attached to various philanthropic organizations can be another way to ensure that donations are going to well-managed, respected organizations that will use the donated funds responsibly is another item to consider. Even using a site in order to determine where the funds are distributed in any given non-profit or charity organization is another way to ensure that one’s money is being utilized wisely and responsibly.

Following adequate research and investigation, the determination of genuine need and the best distribution of philanthropic funds can be another point to consider. It would behoove the user to fashion some sort of comparative list in order to weigh the benefits of donating to various organizations. It is possible that donating funds to several worthy charities and non-profit organizations may be one’s best course of action. Alternatively, one may choose to visit the local chapter of an organization where one is choosing to donate. It seems as though the selection of where to send funds can be insurmountable at times, but it is something that in the end will be more advantageous than not. Knowing that one has given where the need is apparent and where funds will be appropriated responsibly are elements that will embolden the donor to sense that he/she is contributing to the solution as opposed to complaining about and potentially adding to the problem.

As an entrepreneur in today’s society, philanthropy also contributes a variety of benefits that may not have even been previously considered. The practice of learning to give without expecting anything in return is an essential skill for the workplace and can only produce a wealth of positivity and sense of community in a way that cannot be measured financially. Sometimes giving may be reciprocated, and when not expected, the sensation of goodwill can be overwhelming and lead to more profitable giving and partnerships. Knowing that one has contributed to the solving of a genuine problem can also aid one in creative solutions to other problems created within in a global society. Moreover, creativity is often spawned from donating to a cause that causes one to think outside of the box rather than to do what might be typically expected in business. Potential customers always enjoy cooperating with businesses that have an appropriate global view and are committed to contributing to the needs of those outside their own.

While philanthropy may appear to be just something that sounds good on paper, in short, a little research and proper donations to well-respected charities and/or nonprofits can lead to a variety of opportunities in one’s life that were possibly not previously conisdered. Philanthropy is not about quantity, but quality. And therefore, this is a worthwhile habit that all should consider and implement, no matter one’s income or position in society.
