In my humble opinion, this season of Good Witch (season four) on the Hallmark Channel has been the best season for the show thus far. Also, the guest stars have been spectacular, whether new to viewers or not. In the case of Nisa Gunduz, she caught my eye this season early on in Episode 3 entitled “Daddy’s Home.” She portrayed Erica Delgadillo with such precision and heart that I knew I wanted to have an opportunity to feature her, and in spite of her busy schedule, she agreed to do just that.

RH: Why did you decide to become an actress and what kind of training have you had to prepare for this career?

NG: I’ve always felt acting to be a very fulfilling emotional outlet, and although I took the leap into this career path as an adult, it’s something I have always wanted to pursue for as long as I can remember. As an actor, I’m always drawing on different life experiences to empathize or connect with a particular role. I have a university degree in psychology and completed my thesis in neuroscience research, and with respects to my acting career, I have found considerable overlap between both fields to the point where I have been able to draw from what I learned in school, and apply that to the characters I get to portray.

I believe Workin’ Moms was your first professional film/TV role. Were you already a fan of the show before landing a role on it?

Yes that is correct. I was very familiar with the show since season one. I remember seeing the posters on every other bus stop and on this huge billboard off the highway. I watched some of the show and I really liked it. At the time I was still in school, so looking back I think it’s really cool that I’m on the show. Who would have thought?

Please tell us about your role on Workin’ Moms and any memorable moments you have from filming. Why do you believe this show has been so successful?

The laughs on and off set for sure. It was a really fun set to be on from the cast to makeup and wardrobe. As for my role, I played the CEO of a nail polish company and I got to perform opposite Katherine Reitman. I think the show has been such a success because its stories and the characters are so relatable, especially in its portrayal of what it’s like to be a woman, and the everyday challenges that women face as mothers.

Hallmark viewers were introduced to you on the current season of Good Witch. Since this series has had a ten-year run at this point with the network (including the movies and the shows), what was your exposure to this franchise before landing a role?

Well, like you mentioned, Good Witch is a successful long-running franchise, so I’ve known about it for a very long time. I was also very familiar with the actors on it, including some of the other work they have done outside of the series. It was really exciting to be on something that I knew well and a franchise that a lot of people, including those in my life, were very familiar with.

What did you enjoy the most about bringing Erica to life? Any chance we may continue to see Erica in future episodes/seasons?

I really liked that Erica was the rock of her family-to-be. She’s going through this huge life-altering event and while she has her own emotional challenges to overcome, she’s also an emotional support for her husband. I think this is something that is very relatable for many people, and it was portrayed very nicely.

As for Erica in future episodes, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

6. Do you have any other upcoming works that you can mention?

Currently, there are a few ongoing opportunities, but nothing I can mention yet in detail. What I can say, however, is that I am very excited for what’s to come.

As a young actress in the business, who do you see as your mentors and why have they been so influential?

I don’t necessarily have one mentor so to speak. I believe no two paths are the same, especially in this industry. But there are so many people who I admire both in-front of and behind the camera, in terms of how certain people found their unique success.

Performers like Margot Robbie — who I think is incredible– aside from her obvious talent, she’s creating opportunities that she’d never be considered for otherwise with her own production company. I think this is very representative of what this industry entails: actively going after what you want and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.

Are there any charities/causes that you actively support?

I am a huge proponent of animal rescue organizations. I recently adopted my second dog from Niagara dog rescue and I have fostered with them before, as well as with others. It is a cause I will forever stand with and I would love to start my own animal rescue organization one day.

What do you feel are the most essential qualities for an actor to have as they begin to pursue a career in film/TV?

Authenticity. Patience. Confidence. Commitment and perseverance.

What is your favourite…

Movie? Harry Potter trilogy

Book? Can I say Harry Potter again?

TV show? Currently… Handmaids Tale, This Is Us, Casa de Papel (to name a few)

Food? Tacos, tacos and probably tacos

While Nisa’s career is truly in its inception, she has unquestionably embarked on the acting scene with a fundamentally robust splash. She is committed to the sharpening of her craft while making the most of every experience she has on set. Even though information about her is rather scarce at the moment, I was able to uncover a couple of compelling opportunities coming her way in the near future (I won’t mention them here as I doubt they are all public knowledge, but feel free to search if you are so inclined). What impressed me most about Nisa is her maturity and determination, not to mention her notable skills and abilities. She is self-aware but humble, versatile and vibrant, and I would venture to say that in the near future, Nisa is going to be even more of a sensation in the world of film and television. I would invite you to check out Nisa’s credits at the link below and keep an eye and an ear out for this distinctive young woman who is about to grace the entertainment scene with her signature style, elegance, and je-ne-sais-quoi. Additionally, if Hallmark viewers have not yet watched her episode of Good Witch this season, I would invite you to do so as soon as possible so that you can witness her obvious star power in this spirited, memorable guest star spot. I do believe that once you see Nisa in action, you will conclude along with me that she is on the precipice of veritable success in the pursuit of her dreams.
