Every so often, an aspiring actor comes to my attention, and because I revel in highlighting those who have not had the level of exposure that bigger “stars” do in the entertainment business, I am only too happy to feature them on my site. And in the case of Rachael Schneider, she is easily one of my most engaging teenage supporters. Her enthusiasm for the business and those who make their living in the TV/film medium is exactly why I chose to interview her recently.
RH: Please tell us a little about yourself and how you got interested in acting.
RS: Well, I am sixteen years old, will be seventeen in October. I am an actress; also an animal advocate. I love all breeds of dogs, and of course, I love my family too without them I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere in my life.
What was the first role/part you ever played and where did you perform it? What was special about it?
My first role was for a play about five years ago at my church production. Back then I was such a shy child, but once I was on stage, I was coming out of my shell and just getting to act in front of everyone. It was just a thrill to be out there.
Why do you want to become a professional actress?
Because it is so much fun to be filming with professionals, and just even the kid actors who are so professionals. And you can just learn a lot from them as they have been acting from a young age.
Who are your role models in the entertainment business and why are they your role models?
Well, if I have to be honest, it is most likely Erin Krakow and Lori Loughlin from Hallmark’s hit series When Calls The Heart. They are so professional at what they do and it’s very amazing. It would be awesome to work with them one day.
Have you auditioned for any professional roles or do you plan to?
I am planning to. So far it’s been acting classes. And of course, I have been going to agent meetings as well, so it’s up to them 🙂
What is your long-term plan to become a professional actress?
After I finish High School, I would love to attend the Academy of Dramatic Arts in LA. It’s just a beautiful school and it would definitely help me to become an actor as an adult.
Any upcoming projects/performances that you can tell us about?
Right now, it’s just auditioning for short films, and hopefully one big audition for a TV series in the summer.
I know you have an affinity for the Hallmark network. What do you love about it? What are your favorite shows/films on the network and why?
I just love Hallmark. They are so friendly and welcoming. My favorite films.. hmm that’s tough. I really don’t have a favorite, but I love When Calls The Heart and Chesapeake Shores 😘 Because such good family values and everyone is so talented and very special to my heart.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love reading and hanging out with my friends from my school.
Where do you see yourself in five/ten years?
I see myself in my first TV series and on my first movie. And living out my dreams in LA💖
Rachael’s zest and enthusiasm are definitely infectious, and she continues to be the one who approaches everything in this world with her signature smile and lively soul. While she has not had the opportunity to appear in anything professionally as of yet, there is no doubt that her spirit is maintained through her effervescence and willingness to do whatever is necessary to fulfill her ultimate dreams. Therefore, I would invite everyone to check out her links below and even consider following her on social media. As long as young people can dream and give voice to their goals and aspirations, there will always be an opportunity to believe in the impossible and conquer the negativity that seeks to crush the vitality of young hopefuls. I can only wish Rachael every bit of success in all her current and future endeavors and desire a future for her with immense potential where the sky is not even the limit!
