Young Adult Faeries & Fantasy Giveaway Hop

January 8th to 15th

I am the first to admit that I am not a fantasy book fan. However, it would seem that as time has gone on, I have come to appreciate fantasy books, and I sometimes even enjoy them!

I thought I would ask my daughter what her favorite fantasy book was. I do love Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (can hardly wait for Cress). For me, fantasy books are not the normal read for me, but my daughter prefers them. So her favorite? Harry Potter. Probably followed closely by the Owls of Ga’hoole series.

Because I have learned to enjoy and appreciate fantasy books (Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite authors), I am going to give away one book in this genre to an international reader (as long as Book Depository or Fishpond ships to them) $15 or under. When it come to reading Fantasy was my first love. It started with Lloyd Alexander’s
The Chronicles of Prydain back in elementary school and I have been hooked ever since.
Some of my favorite fantasy series are The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, Mistborn
by Brandon Sanderson, Riyria Revelations by Michael J. Sullivan The Black Jewels by Anne
Bishop, The Study series by Maria V. Snyder, Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks,
ASOIAF by Martin, Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett, and…. so many more. 🙂

I love a good fantasy book. In fact it is my preferred choice when it comes to books. My favorite series is Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series, it is an adult urban fantasy. I also like Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series. It is another adult urban fantasy. As for a YA fantasy series I would have to say either the Spirit Thief by Rachel Aaron or the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull.

LOVE fantasy. Especially ones by Maria V. Snyder, Rae Carson, and Tamora Pierce- they’re action packed with kick-axx girls, not to mention the supporting characters are also fabulous

I have always loved fantasy. It was probably my first favorite genre. Some favorites are the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, Terry Brooks’ Magic Kingdom of Landover series, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, The Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander and, of course, can’t forget the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.
