One of my favorite reads is Merle’s Door: Lessons from a Free Thinking Dog by Ted Kerasote who has written for Outside magazine. It’s told from the POV of the dog who finds a home. Then the dog goes on rounds through the neighborhood and has his “friends” come over through the doggie door.
