It would seem like North Korea has been in the news a lot lately, and today marks a day in that country’s history. On this date in 1948, Kim Il-Sung established the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). Of course, he was installed by the Soviet Union, and there are over 500 statues all over North Korea of this “great leader.” Interestingly enough, much of what he has been credited with was never accomplished by him.
