Something Furry Underfoot by Amy L. Peterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I absolutely relish reading real-life stories about people and animals, and this book was just the kind of book I enjoy. It was written with humor, pathos, and every kind of emotion you can imagine. I have to admit that the book was absolutely unbelievable in the beginning, but before long the reader is so captivating that he/she realizes that you just can’t make this stuff up. It is true, and the author and her husband kept quite a menagerie of animals I never would have. This woman must be some kind of saint to put up with her husband’s animal whims! I can tell you honestly I never would have.
You will find a few minor profanities in the book, but I was not offended. And there were no bedroom scenes. Yes, there were some animal antics–one scene is described in some kind of detail–but that was no problem with me. After all, it’s not much different from what you see on National Geographic. If you love animals, this is the book for you. I was amazed to see her reference and connection with the author of “Enslaved by Ducks,” since that was one of the books that signified my return to reading as an adult. In truth, I had no idea that one could domesticate so many different kinds of animals!
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
