The Ultimate Job Guide by John J. Doherty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I have read many books over the course of my years on this planet that discussed the topic of landing your perfect job. There is generally good information included in these kinds of books, but I believe this book is more comprehensive than most of those. The author is incredibly detailed, and he provides all sorts of authoritative books and websites for specific help in various areas. He also gives a host of professional examples that can serve as templates for cover letters, resumes, and more. Indeed this book has kept up with the times, and the author truly understands the modern struggles of this economy. The book is consummately organized, and I believe that the reader would easily be able to find the precise information that is required for every step of the process. I was privileged to read the e-book version, but I would recommend a printed version so you could write in the book and earmark it for quick reference. And if you are unable to find a job after six months of following this book’s wisdom, the author has given the reader the necessary information for receiving a coaching session. In other words, the author backs up what he is proposing in this book with action.
I have to admit that the author debunked a few of my long-held beliefs concerning the job hunt. I believe I shall file these away since I am only a part-time worker at this point and may eventually reënter the full-time work force.
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
