This Day in History August 20, 1935

Okay, I don’t generally feature political figured twice in a row.  But both of the features I wanted to do today could not be corroborated.  On this date in 1935, Ron Paul was born.  He has the dubious misfortune of having the same last name as my ex’s first, but I got over that fact.  I did not realize he was a physician and an author.  He served in the House of Representatives during three different periods:  1976-1977, 1979-1985, and finally 1997-2013.  I remember his run for president because I lived in Texas at the time.  He was extremely popular as a Republican candidate in that country, but I admit that I was not ever in favor of him.  In fact, since President Bush Jr. left office, I have only ever thrown my support behind former Governor Huckabee.  Although I absolutely love Huckabee, I don’t even think he would be a viable candidate in today’s world.  But I digress.  Ron Paul has become a Libertarian, as far as I can see.  I certainly don’t stand behind everything he has said and done–actually, some of it is pretty shocking.  His son, Rand Paul, is a U.S. senator now.  I was pleased to discover that he has been married to the same woman since 1957, and they have five children.
