Donkey Kong Country DVD Review

Donkey KongWhen I was growing up, it was the 1980’s, and the biggest thing in video games was Atari.  I remember that they were way too expensive for us to own one.  I do recall that one of the earliest games was Donkey Kong.  When I learned about the opportunity to review a new DVD featuring this character, I knew I wanted to review it.  All the company asked was my honest review in exchange for the product.

The company was extremely generous, and they sent the DVD Donkey Kong Country as well as some nostalgic items from the 1980’s.  This DVD brings back the iconic Donkey Kong from the classic game.  Inspired by the beloved video game of the same name, this CGI animated series follows Donkey Kong and his pal Diddy Kong as they travel far and wide in their journey to defeat the evil King K. Rool and his cohorts.

My daughter is ten, and this is on her long list of DVD’s to be watched, but it will be one she will enjoy greatly!  As to the other items, she can’t get enough of the slap bracelets and fingerless gloves.  In fact, when I went out to her playroom, she was wearing those still this morning (and they arrived well over a week ago).  Although I was a child of the 1980’s, I actually didn’t embrace much of my culture from that time period.  It was fun to have something like this come back, and now another generation can enjoy it!

Check out Phase 4 films on facebook and twitter as well.

I was sent a free copy of this DVD (as well as accompanying items) in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
