Again, I ask for this not to be a time for political rants. On this date in 1924, the 41st president of the U.S.–George H. W. Bush–was born. I had no idea that my daughter and I almost shared a birthday with him! (Our birthdays are tomorrow). No matter what you may think about him as a president, no one can deny that he has become more beloved in his later years. And his son served as our 43rd president.
I’m going to take a chance here (because I know my wonderful readers WILL NOT tear me down for this). When he ran for president the second time, that was the first time I was able to officially vote. And yes, my friends, I voted for him (even though he did not win). In case you’re curious, I voted for his son both times, too. Don’t worry, I’m not blind. I will never say he nor his son were perfect, but I had my reasons for voting, and I don’t regret my decisions.

Happy Birthday to you and your daughter. My youngest daughter gave birth this morning to identical twin girls.

How neat! I only gave birth to one. I can’t imagine giving birth to twins!

On the news today I saw that people were wearing colorful socks in honor of his birthday. He likes to wear them. Today he wore Spiderman socks on the golf course!

I saw that too! It was nice to hear and see some good and fun things about a politician for a change!

I pretty much vote for the other side, but it doesn’t bother me when people have different views. And none of them are perfect, on either side of the aisle 🙂

These are the kinds of comments I appreciate. I know we all have different political views, but it bothers me when people don’t respect that. Thank you for being so respectful in your response!
