I have to admit that as I began this book, I really didn’t think too much of it. But I have discovered that is a common response for me when it comes to thrillers. Sometimes they take a while to get going. And it seemed that there were so many characters to keep track of that I really struggled to wrap my mind around the entire story. I didn’t feel any connection with the characters.
The first thing the author did that began to turn the tide had to do with little Gabby and her vision–I won’t spoil the story. I was deeply touched, and I suddenly wondered if I would truly enjoy this book. And even though I struggled to keep the characters straight, I truly began to connect with the story and characters. Halfway through the book, the action was so high that I struggled to set the book down.
The best part about this book is that there is no profanity nor sex scenes. Notwithstanding, this was as exciting as any thriller. There is violence, and not everything works out perfectly every time. The gospel message and morality is strong throughout the story, but it never comes across as being preachy. I easily give this book five stars, and I think that if you like thrillers without all the garbage that usually accompanies them, this book is for you!
