Super-mom Tallie O’Shea took on eight adopted children and built a legacy of compassionate justice with her policeman husband. When he is gunned down, she doesn’t think it’s an accident. Then a former lover shows up and the lies from her past start unraveling. As dangers explode around her, can Tallie set things right before everything she loves is destroyed?
As to the book, I am grateful that the profanity is so minor that I almost did not notice it. And there are no sex scenes, so already I pleased to recommend this book. This is also an easy-to-read book that you can sit down and read in an evening. As a result of reading this book, I think I might like to go back and pick up the other books. I was intrigued by many of the characters, and Tallie is someone I would certainly like to know more about. The book does have romance, and the story is simple and nice. The author also throws in a few little bumps along the way to keep things interesting.
If you are looking for a quick read for a quiet evening, you may wish to check out this series.
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
Multi-published author, Genie Gabriel, writes contemporary romance (the Rock’n’Romance trilogy), romantic suspense (ten books in the Bernie’s Legacy series) and, more recently, books that fully reflect her love of dogs.
The romantic comedies in Aunt Maddie’s Doggone Misadventures are centered around holidays and were first published as part of anthologies from Rogue Phoenix Press. Four books have been released so far, with a fifth planned for August 2019 as part of the Tapestries in Time anthology.
I Want to Have the Heart of a Dog, a stand-alone book, fully embraced Gabriel’s connection to dogs, as well as the miracles experienced while growing through life with these canine teachers. The release of More Than Just a Dog began a new fiction series entitled The Collie Chronicles, with the second book, More Than a Star Traveler, released in April 2019.
The common thread of her books is people who find courage and integrity in the darkest times of their lives, who rescue stray dogs and kittens, who find a person they would willingly give their lives for, and who make their little corners of the world a better place.
She lives and gardens in the Pacific Northwest with her herd of doggie teachers, while laying the foundation of a dream that includes acres of elegant and edible landscaping surrounding a beautifully comfortable house built with dogs in mind!
