Author Kevin B. Burk wants to make you angry. Burk believes that getting angry is the first step to happiness, and his newest book, Anger Mastery: Get Angry, Get Happy shows you how.
“Anger is like fire,” says Burk. “When you master it, it’s a powerful source of energy. If you don’t master it, however, it can be dangerous and destructive.” More importantly, Burk asserts, until you master your anger, other people will steal your energy, your power, and your ability to be happy.
The Anger Mastery Process has three phases. In Phase 1, you learn how to use more of your own energy, which makes it harder for other people to steal it from you. (This involves going to the gym at least five times a week.) You also learn how to leave Victim Consciousness and move into integrity by answering the question, “Whose business is it?”
Phase 2 of the Anger Mastery process helps you to stay out of Victim Consciousness by learning how to feel Safe. You meet your Safety Needs with a tool called the Present Moment Awareness Safety Meditation, available for free at www.GetAngryGetHappy.com.
By the time you complete Phase 2, you will already notice significant changes in your life. In particular, you will have considerably more energy. Phase 3 shows you how to use that energy to become truly, completely happy.
Anger Mastery is not your typical book on anger. Not only is Burk’s approach unique, but also the book itself is laugh-out-loud funny. “Humor is a powerful tool to shift consciousness,” said Burk. “Laughter instantly transforms anger. Plus, funny sells more books.”
When you visit the Anger Mastery website at www.GetAngryGetHappy.com, you can experience Burk’s sense of humor, download additional tools to help with the Anger Mastery Process, and of course, buy a copy of Anger Mastery: Get Angry Get Happy for only $9.95.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As I read the introduction of this book, I was somewhat determined not to give it the most favorable review.  After all, the author is an astrologist, and he does not appear to be a conservative.  I was initially disappointed.

Well, all I can say is that it is a good thing that I decided to give this book a chance.  While the first couple chapters of the book were difficult to grasp, I understood theoretically what the author was saying.  And it was indeed life-changing. Especially as I persevered.

I can whole-heartedly tell you that while I have learned a lot of things in this book by trial and error over the past few years, the author takes a fresh approach to dealing with anger (thankfully without any weird astrological principles).  The most life-changing principle for me is that we tend to spend way too much time in “God’s business” and “other’s business” and not enough time in “our business.”  I was so excited to get to try out this concept, and all I can say is that it does work!

I guess the author and I have a lot in common.  When he wrote about his penchant for punctuality and trying to enforce the. rules, I saw my own foibles.  I took to heart what the author recommended in these areas, and while I am sure I have not arrived, my mindset has changed. And that is where the battle begins.

I will warn you that there is some mild profanity in the book, but it is very minor and almost unnoticeable.  I have not tried the meditation he talks about, and I am sorry, but I do not intend to.  Meditation is something I stay away from.  However, I do plan to remember the principles included in the meditation.

I absolutely love the fact that the author has a sense of humor.  Most self-help books I have read are good but light on humor.  The author writes in such a humorous style that I think most people.would find (like I did) themselves laughing out loud.  Do not miss the footnotes!

In conclusion, this is a simple, short book that will definitely help anyone who wants to learn to master his/her anger.  I have given it a 5-star rating due to the fact that what is contained within its easy-to-read pages works!  ÷f you do not believe me, go check it out for yourself!

I was sent a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated in any way, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
