Post Apocalyptic
Date Published: March 11, 2015
322 years after the apocalypse, the world has changed, but her people have not. Secrets, lies, and manipulations endure among a small group of survivors taking refuge on an island in the Northern Pacific.
No one knows what claimed so many lives over three centuries ago, and no one asks, except Ashley Wortham. She can feel the secrets all around her, begging to be uncovered.
But the nine elders who govern the island guard their secrets jealously. They believe the islanders know what they need to, and they hide their secrets behind a ruse of peace. But when Ashley, and her best friend Mason, go down the rabbit hole, no one is prepared for truths they uncover. What will they do when they discover the downfall of humanity lies within their own island, deep inside the dead room?

10 Things Readers Would Be Surprised to Know About Me

(Guest Post by the author)

I’m not sure about opening this particular Pandora’s Box, but you asked, so…(in Peter Pan’s voice) here we go!

1. I LOVE McDonalds. Yes, I know it’s horrible for you. Don’t care. I find it delicious, and my husband appreciates that I’m a cheap date. So there.
2. I will read just about anything if it’s good. I love classics like The Man in the Iron Mask, as well as historical fiction like The Other Boleyn Girl, epic fantasies like The Sword of Truth books, and regular feel good romance books like The Notebook.
3. I have a collection of signed first editions. Admittedly, most of them are Nicholas Sparks books, but I’m working to expand. Recently I added an Amy Bartol and nearly died from excitement the day I got it.
4. My schedule is sacred. An outsider might look at me, see that I have a toddler, and think I’m so anal about keeping my schedule because of her. Nope. She’s super flexible and laid back. I, however, am not.
5. I can recite just about every Friends episode there was. “What if I unpacked here?” “Then all your stuff would be here.” “What if all my stuff was here?” “Then you’d be going back and forth all the time. That doesn’t make any sense.” “Ok…what if we live together and you understand what I’m saying?!” Hahaha. I love that show.
6. I love to tell my dad corny jokes. I will often text him little one liners and am always looking for material to send him.
7. My mom was my matron of honor, and is still one of my best friends.
8. Before I started writing full time, I used my childhood desk to write on. It wasn’t made for a computer, or even to be sat at for long periods, but I still loved it because it was familiar. I cried the day we got rid of it, in favor of my more comfortable office.
9. I still sleep with a stuffed animal. Enough said.
10. I am extremely competitive. Once, my brother and I had a gum-chewing contest to see who could chew their gum faster. After she was done laughing, my mom walked away, leaving us without a declared winner.

Ok! I did it! That’s ten things about me! How about you? What are your quirks and fun things that make you, well, you? Let me know in the comments!
