Love and Muddy PuddlesLove and Muddy Puddles by Cecily Anne Paterson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First of all, this is a completely clean young adult book that appropriate for ny age.  Add an involving story that I think everyone can relate to on a certain level–I know I did!  I am not one who generally read books by Australian authors–this may be one of the first ones.  Don’t let your fear of vernacular comprehension keep you from reading the book.  While I am familiar with British English (as well as a bit of Aussie), I never had any trouble understanding the story.  Not only that, but I think that people have the same issues no matter where you live.  Young people are young people no matter where you live, and we all know what it feels like not to fit in.  I lived most of my young adult life as somewhat of an outcast, and I still sense that even as an adult.  Being an individual and letting everyone see the real you is always tough as most of us know. I honestly cannot think of a thing I would change in this book.  The characters were down-to-earth and completely believable.  Our beloved heroine, Coco, goes through many struggles, and the lessons she learns are for everyone.  And since I now live in the country, I felt like I was able to relate to this story.  Leave the big city and give me a rural setting any day.  But I need my amenities.  Kudos to Coco for being willing to forgo those! I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
