ppacaOkay, let me go on the record saying that I am not in favor of this act, and I never was.  I did attempt to sign up, but I was blessed to be able to keep my current coverage.  Otherwise, I would be paying twice as much.  But enough about that.  On this date in 2009, the Senate passed this act.  I know it wasn’t signed into law until the following year, but this was when things were pretty much guaranteed that Obamacare would become the wave of the future.

Now, I don’t mind if you decide to share your story about Obamacare.  Feel free.  Just be respectful.  If you have been fortunate enough to sign up, I would love to hear your story.  Share positive or negative stories, but don’t attack anyone–please!

Since we are still covered under my husband’s insurance I haven’t been affected. But I do like that insurance companies cannot deny people due to pre-existing conditions anymore. I think the overall idea was good, but not necesssrily the execution.

Stevie, thanks. I think you make a very valid point. Let’s hope that in the long run everything gets worked out. For everyone’s benefit.

I will probably sign up once they get the kinks out but I am going into it with caution.

I honestly hope that they are able to work the kinks out. And I think that no matter what one thinks of Obamacare, caution is something that everyone should use. After all, even sites that have the highest security can experience problems (i.e. Target).

Susan, I can relate. I am a Type 1 diabetic and finding health insurance was a nightmare! But now they can’t turn me away, thanks to ObamaCare

Susan, I am so glad that you are able to find insurance that will not turn you away. Not having lived with something like that, I can’t even imagine!

I know everyone is not happy about the Obamacare project. But to me it was a life saver! I have been unable to work for several years and my husbands job supplied our medical insurance for us. Last year my husband lost his job of over 30 Years. We checked to get more insurance but because I am a Diabetic we were denied insurance. The only thing we qualified for was over a thousand dollars a month for coverage and it wasn’t that good. Since my husband still has not been able to find another job we have been without insurance now for going on 2 years. When Obamacare happened we will now have coverage at a reasonable cost and we don’t have to worry about some catastrophe happening and losing everything we have worked for all our life. So I guess the question is can people give a little…. in order to get help for all?

I’m not signing up because I feel that it is way overpriced and I live on a tight budget.
