I was really surprised to read about today’s feature. It was on this date in 2013, that Blaer Bjarkardottir won the right to keep her first name even though Blaer is typically considered a boy’s name. Iceland has very strict laws concerning names, but this 15-year-old won her case in spite of the objections of the country’s naming committee. Now, I will be the first to say there are some really “stupid” names in this country, but even I am glad the U.S. government has no say in what we name our children!

Proverbs 22:1 – A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.
