Animated films have a unique way of connecting with our hearts, and Light of the World does just that. Told through the eyes of young John—the Apostle who would later write the Gospel—this stunning 2D-animated feature brings the story of Jesus’ ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection to life in a way that’s both deeply moving and accessible for all ages.
This is more than just another animated film. It’s a cinematic experience that takes you back to the golden era of hand-drawn animation while powerfully illustrating how Jesus changed the world forever—and how He continues to change lives today.

My Personal Review
While animated movies are not usually my first choice, Light of the World surprised me in the best way.
✨ I was captivated by the animation style—it reminded me of the artistry my young adult daughter, who’s an artist herself, would have loved.
✨ The story is heartfelt, humorous at times, yet reverent and emotional, capturing the highs and lows of Jesus’ ministry.
✨ Children will especially connect with the perspective of young John, while adults will appreciate the authenticity and depth.
The movie weaves together joy, sorrow, family, friendship, and faith—all told through the lens of a child’s wonder. And honestly, in today’s world, we need The Light of the World more than ever.
Why You Should See It As Soon As Possible
While opening weekends are crucial for a film like this, see this film when you can—it shows theaters and distributors that people want more faith-filled, family-friendly content. By attending, you’re not just watching a movie; you’re supporting a movement to share Jesus with the world through art and storytelling.
