Your child begins the journey into adolescence in a world of sexting, bullying, online stalking and moral defiance. Innocence is under attack, and you cannot win the battle with a single awkward talk or a strict set of rules. The primary defense for your child is a strong relationship with you and with God. FamilyLife developed Passport2Purity (P2P) to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare him or her for the turbulent years ahead. Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a P2P weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity – and strengthen the bond between you. It is designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen. It is suggested that the materials be completed over a weekend away from home, as the child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment. If this isn’t possible, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.
 My thoughts:
I was so excited to get a chance to review this as my daughter just turned twelve this summer. Thankfully she’s not overly interested in boys yet, but I am looking for that to change soon. She and I have discussed dating and remaining pure until marriage, but there are so many temptations out there, and sometimes a program like this is the exact thing that is needed.
I love the way it is set up–almost like you’re going on an adventure. I have looked through the material, but the problem this summer has been scheduling. My daughter has been gone so much, but finally things are calming down a bit.  So I am very excited for us to get a chance to really sit down and do this. I am grateful we don’t have to do it just in a weekend–that will not work for us as our weekends are so crowded. However, our plans are to do it over a 4-5 week period.
I’ve had the pleasure of talking with my daughter about this study and although we have no officially done it, I can definitely recommend it. Nothing better than getting your kids in the word in a fun and engaging way and teaching them why you want to keep yourself pure. Especially in this day and age.
