I love getting to share with you the tools I use to track my fitness and nutrition!

Many long moons ago, when I first lost my fifty pounds, I used a website called SparkPeople. I used their nutrition and fitness trackers. I even downloaded their app to my phone back in the day. It worked well, and I was happy with it. I tracked my food for an entire year and then said, “Never again!”

Fast-forward to 2020. I took this fantastic course with Paul Greene and Kate Austin, and after taking the first eight weeks of Transformation Station, I decided it was time to track my food. However, before that, I was using the Zero app to track my intermittent fasting.

I happened upon Lose It, and it helped me lose thirty-four pounds. The only thing I don’t appreciate about the app is that it keeps wanting me to buy the premium version! But the free version has everything you could need to easily track any kind of food you could imagine as well as your exercise. I don’t track EVERYTHING I eat now that I am at my goal weight, but I am pleased that I have it as a tool that I can use from time-to-time.

Whoa, this is a real blast from the past! SparkPeople… man, that takes me back. It feels like a lifetime ago when everyone was on that site. It’s like the dinosaurs of fitness tracking, but in the best way possible.

It’s so cool that you’ve found a system that works for you. Those apps can be a real lifesaver, a true north for keeping you on track. It’s a bummer they’re always dangling that premium carrot in front of you, though. It’s like, “Here’s the gold, but you gotta pay to touch it.” The free versions are usually more than enough, though, and it’s great that you’ve got it as a safety net. It’s a silent partner you can call on whenever you need it.

I don’t overly track–I just try to be careful about what I eat.
