I will never forget taking this picture of a mountain I used to take for granted when growing up. In Washington State, Mt. Rainier is one of those sights that just stops you in your tracks. I grew up seeing the mountain from the second story window in our house, but trees often obscured it. Now, on a clear day, this is my view on my way home from being in town. In fact, on a clear day, you can also see it from our street! My brother has climbed that mountain. That is not my desire, but it’s been some time since I visited Mt. Rainier National Park. One day, I’d love to go again! Talk about breathing in nature!!
This past weekend, my family and I traveled to Long Beach, Washington, where we still have some family. I grew up there as well, and I took much of this scenery for granted.
While it is much more picturesque during the summer (and we didn’t get a photo of the beach this trip), it was beautiful to see these sights that I often took for granted when I was little.
When we lived on the Peninsula, we always saw Baby Island, as this is called. It is a Native American burial ground–from what I understand–, but it was still an unforgettable sight on any day! When the tide is out, it actually looks like you could walk to the island! We used to joke and say, “Someone pulled the plug in the bathtub!”
I could share many more photos of unique places in nature, but these are my current reality. I hope you enjoy it!

We are so lucky to live in such a picturesque country.
