Imagine a day where you go to a party at a restaurant and they have arranged a seafood buffet. What does it feel like? Seafood has been peoples’ choice for ages now. People from all over the world prefer seafood. The best part is seafood is healthy and has all the nutrients one needs. It has high protein and low carbohydrates. They are low in calories and fats. Recent studies even showed that seafood decreases the risk of stroke, obesity, and hypertension. Finally, it is a food which is so tasty yet healthy.


There are so many kinds of seafood in the world which can be eaten in different ways. Some of the tastiest, exhilarating and delicious seafood which a person cannot resist while having zero self-control are:

Fish

Fish is the seafood that is eaten the most all over the world. Since it is seafood, it has numerous benefits. They infused with important nutrients such as calcium, phosphorous, zinc, iron, magnesium and potassium. It is definitely a healthy YUMMY treat.

There are many different varieties of fish such as salmon, trout, tuna, snapper, crap, etc. They have great taste. It can be eaten as grilled, baked, fried and steamed with herbs. Fish and chips are the most popular option when ordering at a new restaurant.

Crab

Today crab is eaten almost all over the world. Crabs have great taste and aroma. It has a sweet flavor with naturally flaky texture which makes the crab even tastier. Crabs promote the growth of healthy bones. It also detoxifies the body. It increases immunity and increases circulation. There are many ways to eat crabs such as crab soup, crab cake, deep-fried cake, steamed crab, crab legs, crab claws, crab dip, and other numerous ways. They are good even when they are cold. People are crazy about crabs these days.

Shrimp

Shrimp are mild and tender. People confuse shrimp with prawns. They both are different things, but they taste very much the same. Shrimp are not as big as a fish or a crab. Shrimp are high in vitamins and minerals. They make the brain and heart healthier because they contain omega-3 and antioxidants. They are an amazing source of protein. They can be eaten as barbecued shrimp, boiled, steamed, baked, sautéed, and stir-fried. They are used in soups which makes them an amazing choice.

Lobster

Lobster has a unique taste. That is why they are more expensive than most other kinds of seafood. They are soft and spongy and have a lighter taste. Lobster is a great source of selenium. It protects against depression, anemia and all types of thyroid problems. Lobster is known as luxury food because it is costly. This fancy dish can be best if eaten as steamed, boiled and grilled. Lobster rolls and even lobster tails make a delicious meal.

Scallops

Scallops are firmer than lobsters and also have a sweet taste. Scallops are shellfish with edible muscle. They contain potassium and magnesium. These elements contribute to a healthy heart. They are very high in protein and very low in calories, which is amazing. Scallops are great for people who are on a diet and crave good food. They are great when eaten smoked and seared.

Clams

Clams are the most seen food item is the movies. Many movies show clam as one of the dishes in a restaurant or a party. Clams have two seashells that are connected by muscles. They are sandy because they are buried in the sand. Therefore, it is important to clean it before cooking and serving. Clams have a salty flavor, but it is liked by many people. They are gooey, but not too big. They contain high protein and elements such as zinc, iron, selenium, and magnesium. They can be eaten steamed, baked, raw (some people like it), and fried. They can be added to soup or pasta as well.

Octopus

The octopus has a very bland taste. They are chewy. It might surprise people, but octopus does indeed have a bland taste. But they can be very difficult to resist. They are a good source of iron, calcium, phosphorus, calcium, selenium and many vitamins, such as vitamin C, A, and B. They also have omega 3 essential oils. So many health benefits from such a tasty dish. They can be eaten grilled, boiled, steamed, hot, roasted, fried and even ALIVE.

Mussels

Mussels are really soft and are chewable. Most people confuse mussels with clams, but as we know, they are different. Mussela can be included in your diet because they are healthy. They contain Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, zinc, and iron. They can be eaten in all ways such as fried, barbecued, boiled, steamed, fried and roasted.

Oysters

Some people claim oysters are the best. They are firm, chew and gooey simultaneously. They have so many tastes; sweet, salty, and buttery (melts in your mouth). They have a ton of health benefits. They offer Vitamin D and C, iron, copper, zinc, riboflavin, and many other essential minerals. They are eaten raw (yes that’s right), smoked, steamed, baked, broiled and grilled. They are many different types of oysters, but they all taste rather similarly.

Conclusion:

In a nutshell, all plates of seafood are essential for us. They are delicious yet healthy. This variety of food can be irresistible. They are an excellent source of protein. Every country and culture have their own way of cooking and eating seafood. Everyone prefers a different way of eating that may conflict with others’ views, but one thing which most will agree is that seafood is undoubtedly one of the best things to eat. It can often be really difficult to control yourself and only eat one. Happy eating!
